Rozen Maiden - Half Finished Shinku Fanart

I started this Shinku a few months ago, but I haven’t worked on it for about 90 days. I’m going to declare the project closed for now and post my work until this point. The original concept was to have a porcelain-type doll that looked really lonely sitting in a Victorian chair. However, I made several attempts to get a good chair and background but I couldn’t come up with anything I liked. The coloring isn't quite complete either, mostly the small details. In hindsight I probably should have found a picture of a Victorian room and painted over it then did the figure around that. Any-who, I may or may not continue work on this. With my current schedule it will be a while before I have any free time for that type of thing, as fanart seems to eat up a lot of time.

School is sucking the anime-watching-life out of me.

History:

This started as a sketch with almost no alteration once it was scanned. I made the eyes in blender 3D and used some creative Photoshop filters to blend the colors and brush stroking. The coloring was done entirely in Photoshop using a watcom tablet for more dexterity. As a matter of fact, I’m thinking of upgrading my pen tablet to something bigger. Currently, I have the little 3x5~ish model.

That's good. Real nice, actually. Are you looking into becoming an artist, or is this something you just do in your spare time?

This is strictly a spare time pursuit.
